Before you send an email, here are a few Frequently Asked Questions:
I’m glad you asked. Meetings are every Wednesday during the semester at 9:30PM at the shed off of Livingston campus. Directions to the shed can be found under the ‘Meetings’ tab.
It is never too late to join RUOC silly. Anyone is able to come to any meeting or trip. We don’t care if its your first time, if this is the only trip you ever want to go on (but who would ever want to do that?), or if you’re just looking to try out the club. Don’t be shy or nervous, we promise you’ll never regret coming on an adventure with us.
Go to that trip information under the ‘Trips’ page, see who the trip leader is and contact them directly through email. Their email can be found on the ‘Meet the E-Board’ page. Or you can post a question on the trip’s Facebook event.
Of course not!
Of course! Just go to the Trips page, see who is running the trip, and then find their contact information on the ‘Meet the E-Board’ page. You can email them that you are interested in attending and they can make arrangements for you. You can also reach out to us via our Facebook page.
If you have become a member of the club, you are allowed to rent anything you’d like from the Shed. The way it works is that you put down a security deposit for the item, and we’ll give you the money back as soon as you return the item. You can borrow this gear for trips we run or for your own independent trips. Contact our Quartermasters.
Nope, all of our trips are completely student-run by responsible e-board members. We carpool to the trips together, and plan it all ourselves. But we do have an awesome adviser Rick, a professor at Rutgers who helps us with anything we need and provides our awesome meeting spot – the Shed!
We do almost everything outdoors related, and if there is an activity you are really interested in that you don’t see on the schedule, let us know and we’ll see if other people are interested and try to get a trip running. But remember that you are always able to run your own trip if you’re experienced enough in the activity.
Just send us an email requesting that you be put on the mailing list.
